GROOVY AARDVARK: 1989 Demo Available For Download

The 1989 four-song demo cassette by vintage Montreal, Quebec crossover act GROOVY AARDVARK has been made available for download at the Bang! Bang! metal demo blog. The recording will appeal to fans of "SPAZZTIC BLURR, OLD LADY DRIVERS and similar craziness," according to a posting on the blog.

"Histories of GROOVY AARDVARK are pretty elusive, but it seems they formed in 1986 under the name SCHIZOPHRENIC MUFF DIVERS. Currently, the band's sole remaining founding member Vincent Peake has been moonlighting on bass for VOIVOD..."

Bang! Bang!, the weblog of Ian Christe (author of "Sound of the Beast" and "Everybody Wants Some: The Van Halen Saga", and host on Sirius Satellite Radio's Hard Attack),is dedicated to "celebrating the tradition of freely-traded heavy metal demo cassettes and preserving the pioneer spirit of the underground, one magnetic particle at a time."
